Feras Al Shawaf
Managing Partner
Feras Al Shawaf has extensive experience of contentious matters including litigation and has represented corporate giants such as Huawei, Tekfen, Sansui, Pizza Hut, Olayan Group and Incom (Italy) in multi-million litigation and arbitration proceedings. He has also acted as mediator for large corporations. Feras has a strong understanding of what is necessary to solve commercial disputes and close large transactions. He has strong industry knowledge and provides effective strategic direction to the firm.  Feras Al Shawaf is a member of the Saudi Arabian Bar, the Arbitration Committee of the GCC and has lectured in Prince Sultan University Riyadh.

He has represented and is still representing members of the Royal family before the Special Court for the disputes between members of the Royal Family.

Feras frequently appears before the Committee for the Resolution of Securities Disputes and the Tax Appeal Committees.

Abbas Khan
Abbas Khan leads the corporate and commercial practise of the Firm. Abbas has about 5 years of Saudi Arabian transactional experience. He recently joined Feras Al Shawaf Law Firm from Trowers & Hamlins where he was a Senior Associate.

Abbas is a UK qualified lawyer specialising in corporate and commercial matters, particularly relating to private equity transactions; M&A; and structuring of foreign investment in Saudi Arabia. Abbas understands the regulatory as well as commercial aspects of corporate transactions, securities markets and financial instruments through his experience at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan; and the Middle East.   Abbas has advised the Pakistani Government, IPPs, telecom and construction companies on large-scale transactions. Abbas holds an LLB (Hons) (First Class) from the University of Buckingham and a BCL from the University of Oxford.

Shawaf Al Shawaf
Shawaf obtained his LLB from King Saud University and got deeply involved with litigation with particular focus on contentious matters pertaining to trademarks. He took time out to complete his legal education from BPP Law School, London. He is now leading the trademark practise of the firm while supervising on a number of corporate matters.

Afaq Sindhu
Senior Associate
Afaq is a UK qualified lawyer/barrister (PGLLB (Hons), Bar-at-Law, LLM, MCIArb (London), CSA and M.A. English (Literature) with Role of Honour (Pak)) and co-leads the commercial and corporate practice of the Firm with Abbas Khan. Afaq has considerable experience of private practice as well as working in-house as an Assistant Vice President in Legal Affairs at Saudi Pak Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company Limited.

Afaq has gained experience in general corporate/ commercial matters (including private equity, mergers & acquisitions, and drafting complex transactional agreements) banking and finance, competition laws, commercial agencies, employment law and regulatory laws. Afaq has advised government and private financial institutions on various syndicated loan transactions; financial restructurings; and competition and anti-trust laws. Moreover, Afaq is very comfortable in advising on matters of FDI or structuring of foreign investment in Saudi Arabia. He has dealt with all forms of business establishments and advised countless foreign investors from UK, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Austria, China, Japan, Hong Kong and USA in respect of forming joint venture companies, limited liability companies, branch offices and technical scientific offices in Saudi Arabia.

Robert Law
Senior Counsel
Robert specializes in compliance and corporate matters having acted as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of a multibillion dollar US Securities and Exchange Commission registered investment advisor for 13 years.  He also has considerable experience with representation of public companies, private placements of securities, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and partnership matters.  He received his J.D in 1980 and an LLM in 1981 from the New York University graduate tax program.  He is a licensed attorney in the United States (Washington State).

Abdu Aladeeb
Senior Associate
Abdu is a senior bilingual (Arabic & English) lawyer who joined the Firm in 2007 and now heads the litigation department of the Firm under the auspices of Managing Partner, Mr<. Feras Al Shawaf. Abdu regularly assists Mr. Feras in representing local and foreign entities in contentious matters before all types of Courts in Saudi Arabia.

Abdu has also developed extensive commercial and corporate experience and regularly advises on matters of local laws including without limitation joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, labour and employment, agency/distribution/franchise agreement, corporate restructuring, investment structuring, establishment of local and foreign entities and shareholders' agreements.

Abdu also posses "hand-on" knowledge of the procedural aspects involved in complex commercial transactions as well as his extensive experience in drafting and negotiating contracts of all kinds, drafting proposals and managing completion process for foreign investors in Saudi Arabia. Further, Abdu is an expert in IP and Trademark registration matters too and has advised a number of foreign entities in respect of their registration matters.

Salman Eid Al-Sharafi
Senior Associate
Salman holds a Bachelor degree in Administrative Science in the field of Law from King Saud University 2005. Salman regularly appears before the Saudi courts and different tribunals. He also attended the Preparatory Program for Lawyers & Attorneys (3 months). Legal Centre, Riyadh. Salman also attends to the procedural aspects of FDI matters.

Talal Emad Al-Hafiz
Talal is a graduate from Kind Saud University in Bachelor degree of Administrative sciences in the field of law and a "very good" grade in the second semester 2008. He joined Feras AL-Shawaf law office in December 2008, while he specializes in Trade Marks, consulting in commercial, labour and civil law and assisting local or international companies in Saudi Arabia

Essam Hussain
Essam is the Head of our trade mark registration Department at Feras Al-Shawaf Law Firm.
He obtained his LLB from the University of Cairo, Egypt in 2000. His main field of specialization is trade mark registration

He worked as legal advisor at the office Dr. Hussam Lotfy, Cairo for four years and he worked for five years in the law office of Jaffer Gurab and gained expertise in many fields including patent, trademark, copyrights, labor and commercial law. He served as the legal advisor for Othaim Co., Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2009 to 2010.

Saad Al Kahthani
Junior Associate
Saad Al Kahthani is a recent graduate. He obtained his LLB from King Saud University in 2009. Since graduation he has been dealing mainly with corporate law including company formation and procedural aspects. He has been appearing before all commercial courts.

Abdulrahman Al Shaghrood
Junior Associate
Abdulrahman is a recent graduate. He obtained his LLB from King Saud University in 2010. Since graduation he has been dealing mainly with corporate law including company formation and share transfers and acquisitions. He regularly appears before all commercial courts.
