About Fareed
Fareed joined the Firm in October 2023 and heads the Corporate / M&A (English) practice of the Firm. He was previously a Managing Associate at a Tier 1 law firm in Pakistan.
He holds an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of London and qualified as a Barrister from Lincoln’s Inn, London in 2009.
Fareed has over 14 years of experience in advising local and international clients on complex and high value transactions. His areas of expertise include cross-border and local mergers and acquisitions (M&A), banking / finance laws, power projects, joint ventures, anti-trust laws, regulatory issues, foreign investments, exchange control regulations and construction laws. He has advised both buyers and sellers in M&A transactions involving listed and unlisted companies.
In the power sector, he has worked on thermal, wind and solar power projects, including one of the first CPEC priority coal power projects of Pakistan. In the energy sector, he has advised various exploration and production companies on the sale and acquisition of working interests in oil and gas fields and has advised one of the super major oil companies on the sale of its working interest and exit from the Pakistan market. He also routinely advises clients on various aspects of the Data Protection Law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
